About your tutor
I'm Quintijn van Heek and I'm delighted to welcome you to ViolinLessons.nlI started playing the violin at the age of six and have been teaching and developing as a musician ever since. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Classical Violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Alongside classical music, I also studied jazz improvisation, which has broadened my approach to music and performance. I am currently an academist with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.My teaching is adapted to each student's individual level, interests, and goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for an exam, learning a particular piece, or simply looking to enjoy playing the violin, I aim to make every lesson clear, encouraging, and rewarding.I believe that learning an instrument should be about more than just playing the correct notes. In our lessons, we work on technique, musical expression, confidence, and developing your own personal sound. My experience as a soloist, orchestral musician, and prize-winning performer helps me guide students with practical and musical insight.Once a year, we host a concert where students have the opportunity to perform for their peers, family, and friends. It is a wonderful way to celebrate progress, build confidence, and share the joy of music.I am excited to begin this musical journey with you. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I am here to help you develop your skills and enjoy making music.
